Halloween Wreath!

By Craig Snyder Publisher Boyertown, PA October 20, 2021

Halloween is my absolute favorite time of year! The beautiful colors on the tress, the dry air and all the movies from the cutesy to the scary! Most of all I love Halloween crafts! Crafts this time of year I think are the most fun as your imagination has no limits. Just about anything you can think of fits into the Halloween theme one way or another. Today I want to show you our Halloween wreath.

We packed the family in the car and went to our local craft store. There, we saw a really cool wreath and some fun Halloween decorations that gave us the inspiration to make a fun family craft! We piled our cart with our supplies and made our way home. For crafts like this we think it's best to use hot glue as it tends to hold better and could be used as a neat spiderweb effect like we did. Tip: Save the spiderweb for the very last step. We plugged our hot glue gun in and got our craft table ready. While the glue was heating up we wrapped battery operated orange pumpkin stringed lights around the wreath. Tip: Make sure to have easy access of the battery compartment for replacement. We then wrapped wide purple ribbon around the wreath for a subtle purple. By now our hot glue is ready! We glued our two green spiders on opposite sides of each other. We found this beautiful iridescent plastic skull that would fit perfectly for our wreath! We must have thought and debated for hours before my wife had the brilliant idea to float the skull in the middle of the wreath. My jaw dropped with this brilliant idea! There are multiple ways to float the skull but we thought the most eye appealing way was to use sewing thread. We used a long threaded needle with clear thread and punctured the middle of the skull from the top to the bottom and also in the middle from side to side. Tie each end of the string to the rim of the wreath. I hope you kept your hot glue gun on! It is now time to create the spiderweb effect! Pick a starting point on the wreath and squeeze your glue gun and drag the gun across the next point on the wreath. Keep repeating this step in a web like design until you are happy with the results! Here is our design!

We would love to see all the designs you have come up with! Please email them to us or share them to our Facebook Page!
